About Grassroot Soccer Westchester

The Grassroot Soccer (GRS) Westchester Club was started by a group of teenagers, with family in South Africa and a love of soccer, who came together to help less fortunate young people in Africa and other countries by raising money and awareness for Grassroot Soccer. Last year, we hosted the second annual GRS Westchester 3v3 Tournament with over 90 participants from our community, friends and family. This year we hope do even better and with your support we can! In the communities where Grassroot Soccer works, there is a huge gap between what young people need for health education and services, and what’s available.  Did you know that HIV-related death rates have declined for all age groups except adolescents? By participating or contributing to the GRS Westchester Soccer Tournament young people can directly change the lives of people their age.

When you register to play, you support Grassroot Soccer, an international adolescent health organization that educates, inspires, and mobilizes young people to overcome their greatest health challenges and live healthier, more productive lives. Grassroot Soccer’s work in Southern Africa and throughout the world connects at-risk young people with the mentors, information, and health services they need to thrive, and empowers adolescents to make educated choices about pressing health challenges such as HIV/AIDS, sexual health, gender-based violence, and malaria. To date, Grassroot Soccer has reached more than 1.9 million young people in 50 countries.
